Expertise and a passion to get to the top of Formula One have led Mark through an education based in engineering to the cutting-edge of technology at the McLaren Formula One racing team and then to forming a new team in F1 in only 100 days: Super Aguri.
Mark transitioned to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship as the automotive industry turned towards electrification. As one of the founding Team Principals, he became the most accomplished, leading the DS TECHEETAH Formula E Team to victories in 5 championships with drivers Jean-Eric Vergne and Antonio Felix da Costa. His winning mindset allows him to provide top-notch coaching and deliver public speeches that feature concepts and ideas from the motorsports world.
Mark’s latest foray into motorsports is with the recently reinvented Lola Cars where he takes the position of Motorsport Director exploring the future of electrification, hydrogen and sustainable materials and fuels and their applications to motorsports and beyond into the automotive sector. Lola Cars has now announced their entry into Season 11 of the ABB Formula E World Championship in partnership with Yamaha Motor Co.
Mark also setup the MobOx Foundation C.I.C. in Oxford and StreetDrone the autonomous vehicle company.
Adding an MBA has allowed Mark to broaden his insight into the management of people in order to deliver a passionate, motivated and innovative workforce.
He brings a unique mix of design, technical and commercial expertise from positions at F1 teams such as Arrows Grand Prix, McLaren and Super Aguri, GM-Holden in the automotive business and spin-outs from Oxford University in marine energy and electric vehicle technology. This makes Mark uniquely positioned to deliver business planning and execution advice, including technical due diligence, operations and management.
